Embark on a captivating walking tour through the beautiful streets of Prague as we explore the vibrant Vodičkova Street, Spálená Street, Husova Street, and the scenic Alšovo nábřeží. This immersive video invites you to experience the charm and rich history of the Czech Republic's capital city. Walk in the footsteps of centuries of history as we pass by historic landmarks, stunning architecture, and breathtaking views of the Vltava River. Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí) This Square is the commercial and administrative center of the city as well as the site of important social and historical events. You'll find cinemas, theatres, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops, and administrative centers here. The Square was created during the founding of the New Town by Charles IV in 1348. Today it is dominated by the National Museum (1885 – 1891) and Josef Václav Myslbek's statue of the national patron St Wenceslas from 1912. https://goo.gl/maps/R3o7pbj6FeG7QVok6 Vodickova Street (Vodičkova Ulice) is a well-known street full of tourists not only during the daytime, a busy street in which traffic does not cease to stop even at nighttime. It connects Prague's two largest squares – Charles Square and Wenceslas Square. The street is named after Jan Vodička, a wealthy new town butcher who in the 15th century owned the most prominent house (No. 699), U Nováků palace today. Thanks to the strategic position of the road – connecting the Horse market (Wenceslas Square) and the Cattle Market (Charles Square), it was a vital business route in the past. Nowadays, it is one of the most-visited streets that offer various kinds of entertainment for all ages. It is used by cars and trams, and at the street corner is the metro station Můstek. There are many shops, restaurants, pubs, and places on your visit to Prague. One of them is Lucerna Passage, with its beautiful art nouveau cinema, classy café, and famous concert venue, it is one of the most popular places in the city center. Opposite Lucerna, there is the cinema Světotor that features good films. If you walk through the passage, you'll find yourself in the Franciscan gardens, a quiet and beautiful place to relax after your strolls in the hectic city center. Location: https://goo.gl/maps/eJ5KRZ4VFTyQHLyU6 Spálená street arose along the route that once connected Vyšehrad with the Old Town market and Prague Castle. The course went through a scarcely populated area known as Mezihrady (Between the Castles) and mainly through a terrain safely distant from the reach of the frequent floods of the Vltava River. In contrast to the usual straight lines of the street design in New Town, this street retained the meandering course and width of the original route. The first name of the road was Kovářská (the street of smiths) and later Flašnéřská (the street of tinsmiths), after the predominant profession of its residents. The current name Spálená (the burnt road) was given after the great fire of 1506, which turned to ashes in more than twenty buildings, although, as a witness had it, even the Jews extinguished the fire, praised by the burghers. The executioner exercised one of his arts, i.e., he exorcised the fire(a quotation from a medieval chronicle). https://goo.gl/maps/RCfEHVZx3u2cHDog9 Alšovo Embankment (Alšovo nábřeží) is a vital transport road, even though it is located away from the tourist center. The waterfront and the Na Františku monastery complex are adjacent to the waterfront. Interestingly, the embankment in the area of František was the only section where the Old Town did not have walls under Wenceslas I against the Vltava. The team of the waterfront from today's Pařížská to Dušní Street used to be a part of Sanytrová Street until the 19th century. There used to be a spa on the coast, fences with wood, and the production of sanitary or saltpeter. The embankment was built here in 1904 and has been called Dvořákovo since its very beginning. However, in some periods, its entire eastern part was referred to as Na Františku Street. There are two important buildings on the waterfront - the Faculty of Law of Charles University and the building of the CTU Conservatory. https://goo.gl/maps/tnVYVtAwsJqjnayW8 Recorded in 4k 60fps HDR Perception Philosophy © 2023 19 May 2023 Czech Republic ASMR
