The Atlanta Police Department Faces of the Force Series: Introducing Army Veteran, Zone 1 Officer, Kenneth Washington The journey towards becoming a police officer doesn’t always happen in a straight line, some people join the military, others go to college and get their degree first, and some try other jobs before settling into a career in law enforcement. Officer K. Washington decided that graduating from college was important and then he enlisted in the Army and served his country honorably, before signing up to join the Atlanta Police Department (APD). Though he is young in tenure with APD, officer Washington is seasoned in life experiences. He served two tours of duty overseas, obtained a degree in criminal justice, and is a dedicated father to his children. Here is his Faces of the Force interview where he talks a little about his journey and speaks on his role as an officer.
