Because his body of work is so deep and rich, the industry of adapting novels by Stephen King to screen will never close up shop. With such an impressive catalog of classic novels and novellas, it's easy for iconic works like The Long Walk, written by King in 1979 under the Richard Bachman pseudonym, to slip through the cracks. Finally, the horror novel about a group of contestants in a harrowing annual contest will receive its proper cinematic treatment, with a screenplay penned by Strange Darling writer-director J.T. Mollner, and I Am Legend and Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence behind the camera. The movie stars Mark Hamill (The Life of Chuck), David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus), Garrett Wareing (Manifest), Tut Nyuot (Why Wouldn't I Be?), Cooper Hoffman (Saturday Night), and Charlie Plummer (National Anthem). At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Collider's Perri Nemiroff sat down with stars Nyuot, Wareing, producer Roy Lee, and Mollner to discuss the relevance of The Long Walk, when the events of the film take place, and enduring a physically demanding shoot. Mollner also teases a future King adaptation he's working on, and why this one is so special to him. #thelongwalk #interview #stephenking #sdcc #movie For interviews, movie reviews, and more visit https://collider.com FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL / collider / collider / collider
