It Only Takes a Second... To Move Us Forward Years. #CCHSAWARENESS For more information and to donate for a cure go to https://cchsnetwork.org CCHS is a rare genetic disorder of the central nervous system affecting ~1200 individuals worldwide. It impairs the body’s ability to breathe automatically, especially during sleep. Those with CCHS are also at risk for cardiac pauses, cancer, GI dysfunction, seizures, and learning and behavioral issues. To honor the 5th Annual International CCHS (Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome) Day on November 9, 2019, the CCHS Foundation today proudly launches a public service announcement titled “It Only Takes A Second,” a call to action that encourages the global community to give a moment of time to this orphan disease. Actors and activists Henry Winkler and Jonah Hill recently learned of CCHS through personal connections and offered to lend their voices to the cause. They are featured in this PSA – alongside CCHS patients and families from around the world – designed to highlight the complexities of CCHS and need for better advocacy, funding and management options.
