It contains good views of Scottish landscapes and industry and production line scenes 1930's The film begins with white on black intertitle displaying brief information on the background of White Horse Scotch, where it is made and its reputation. Intertitle: SCOTLAND: "Land of the Mountain and the Flood". Scottish landscape. Fir trees, small stretch of water at the foot of a hill with mist at the top. A valley with river bending and twining round the foot of the mountain slopes. Intertext: The Centre of the distilling industry. A large train station sign displaying the name "Craigellachie" and "change for Strathspey" and a separate sign on top of this saying "The Scotsman". Small buildings in background which are situated at the bottom of a steep mountain side. near to the station. A bench in the foreground under the station signs on the platform. High view of the train station as the train arrives. The platform is curved. Baggage trolley and two passengers on platform. Fences and parked vehicles behind the station house. The steam train arrives through tall bushy trees on either side of the tracks and stops at the station where a few people walk towards it. Mountains in the background. Shot of wide river bending through a valley. Intertitle: The River Spey. A well constructed narrow foot bridge across the wide calm water. Very leafy, tall trees on the other side filling up the river bank. The ends of the bridge cannot be seen until the camera moves along to the bank opposite the trees and reveals two medieval-style stone towers. Slightly rockier and narrower part of the river with faster moving water. Bushey branches obscure the river bank, lush pastures seen in background. Another bend of the river with taller bushy trees on the bank. Very tranquil and scenic environment. Intertext: "Some of the finest Scotch is distilled in the valley of the River Spey". Flat view of river flowing through two clusters of rock on either side making a narrow path for the water that flows faster and with mild rapids. Some water goes over the rock to form mini waterfalls. Another view of the Spey seen through tall thin tree trunks and slightly bare, skinny branches. Intertext: "A few more glimpses of the River Spey". Faster flowing part of the river with water slightly cascading over rocks, strong rapids. Two big boulders in the shallow waters near the stony, slightly rocky shore of the Spey. A Willow tree hanging just above the water on a rocky bend of the river. Rock in the water. Intertext: "These Distilleries are small communities scattered over the Spey Valley". Slightly sloped, lush fields and pastures form the valley in which a big brick house with chimney is situated. Focus on some two-storey houses on flat field. Smoothly curved hills in the background and wood-posted wire fence in the foreground. Taller stone buildings at the water's edge with tree, garden and houses on the opposite bank. Focus on the pointy-roofed distillery building which displays two separate but same styled signs; "WHITE HORSE DISTILLERY LTD" and "CRAIGELLACHIE GLENLIVET DISTILLERY". Icon of White Horse above signs. Intertext informing viewer of the foundations of Scotch Whisky; Water, Peat and Barley. More intertext describing how good the water is as it "carries the fragrance" of moor flowers and Heather essence. Shots of river. Intertext introducing the pictures which illustrate how the water is collected and taken to the Distillery. Cascade of water from rocky and leafy mountain slope. Pictures of flat water almost like a lake. Intertext: Conveying the hillside water to the Distillery". A field with path and wooden gate. Intertext rolling upwards explains what Peat is, how it is collected and used to achieve flavour. Shot of three men in working clothes walking down a vast mountain slope on a dusty worn-down path.
