Former Adventist Fellowship Conference, November 3–5, 2018 The Chapel Evangelical Free Church, St. Joseph, Michigan As Adventists, we were taught that Jesus is in heaven wearing a high priestly robe like Aaron’s as He applies His blood to the confessed sins of those who have professed faith in God. We were taught the wrong Jesus! Hebrews explains that Jesus is a different kind of priest from a completely different order—Melchizedek—who never wore a linen ephod or had a Urim and Thummim. Jesus’ work is completely different from Aaron’s! Christians have an eternal priest who shed eternal blood once for all, and that blood covers our past, present, and future sins when we believe in Him. Colleen Tinker is the editor of Proclamation! magazine and also co-leads Former Adventist Fellowship with Richard, her husband. She was a third generation Seventh-day Adventist and spent 15 years teaching English in both Adventist and Christian junior high and high schools. In 1999 Colleen resigned as managing editor and news editor of Adventist Today when she and Richard left Adventism to make their behaviors congruent with their belief that Jesus alone saves.
