Today I replace the OEM injectors with Bosch upgrades which have a higher flow rate (550cc/min) and update the ECU map to account for the change. Replacing the injectors on a Mk 1 TT is a relatively straightforward job, involving undoing only two bolts - the fuel rail then lifts off, bringing the four injectors with it. Unhooking the electrical connectors is just a matter of pressing on the spring retaining clips and lifting off the connectors. The injectors are held on the rail with clips, which are straightforward to remove. Make sure any seals that come off the old injectors are removed and assembly is the reverse of disassembly. The whole job shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Be warned, the Bosch injectors need adapters to fit the Audi wiring harness. While I was in there I checked the spark plugs, which looked OK apart from some oil on the threads, which I am guessing is due to a leaky valve cover gasket. I wasn't convinced that the refresh helped, but that is a story for another day . . . Bosch Injector part No: 0 280 158 117 (donated by Motoza Performance - thanks!)
