This natural alexandrite in matrix specimen was mined in Bahia, Brazil. ***There is a small amount of light green translucent emerald as shown in the middle right portion of the photo at left. This matrix specimen has over 60 carats of translucent alexandrite with some small semi-transparent areas! ***The alexandrite has mostly broken surfaces and some naturally terminated surfaces, with dark green color under daylight, and some areas exhibit natural reddish-purple hues near some edges when viewed with strong incandescent light. There also is a half inch wide naturally terminated alexandrite crystal partially exposed on one side.
