COVID-19 Update - April 20, 2020

Welcome back! Here is an update on the state of COVID-19 in the midst of this pandemic that we are currently facing. For the past few weeks, I have been quite busy working 50-60 hours week and just did not have the free time or energy to make any videos. My time at work has decreased and I'm back again, starting with a follow up to the video I did back in January about the, at that time, novel coronavirus 2019. In this video we take a look at where we are at with this virus today. I start off talking about the number of cases and death both around the world and in the US. I also compare these to the numbers from the video I did on January 29th. Next we move in to talk about this virus, now called SARS-CoV2 and the disease it produces, COVID-19, as well as the state of the pandemic, using the numbers from Italy as a guide of what to expect here in the US. Next I move on to talking about flattening the curve and how we are doing around the world and again in the US. This talk transitions in to talking about the latest craze in the US right now; protesting to open the country back up. We take a look at what is happening with this and some of the things that we need in order to do just that. Finally I finish out the lesson with a quick overview of some clinical information that we hav learned about this virus. They are really quick points that are made as I am planning to dive more in to these topics on COVID-19 in future lessons.
