Welcome back everyone, sorry for being away for a few weeks. Ok so getting right into it, I start rough forming the panels for the helm on a wooden stump and then go onto plannishing. Lastly, I start marking the frame for where to punch the holes for the panels. Question time: For the finish of the helmet we have 4 options of which I would like you to choose. Option 1: Satin finish (Standard finish) Option 2: Gloss finish (Not mirror but still good) Option 3: Oil blackened (Make the steel look black, Knarly) Option 4: Heat blue the steel (Same steel just in blue) My background - My Name is Calvin and I live in South Africa. I have been making armour properly since I was 18 in 2007 where I always wanted my own suite of armour but realised that due to where I stay and not having enough money that I shall make my own, as I so often did growing up. Now over 10 years later I strive to create historically accurate armour that would do armourers several hundred years ago proud. I work full time and so only get to do what I love in my limited spare time however I hope to bring our regular videos to keep everyone up to date and hopefully show somehow I make certain items and even better hope to inspire some of you to get started in this age-old craft. / robertsonarmoury / robertson-ar. . / robertson_armoury
