The Canmore Public Library welcomed local authors Joanna Croston, Sharon Wood, and Sarah Hueniken for the January 2026 edition of Fireside Chats with Local Authors. Joanna presented her latest book "Mountaineering Women: Climbing Through History", and Sharon Wood and Sarah Hueniken, who are both featured in the book, shared their experiences in the mountains. More about Fireside Chat events: Fireside Chats is an ongoing conversation about writing, storytelling, and the craft of spinning tales to share with readers. How do writers manage to wrangle their big ideas onto the page and then, write enough pages to fill a book? Turns out, no two authors tackle the challenge in quite the same way. Snacks are provided at each event and books will be available for purchase. Each event will include a book exchange table. Bring a book you love (gently used or new) for the exchange table and leave with another to read.
