One of my biggest complaints about pine shavings is that the chicken poop just sits on top of the pine shavings. The hemp bedding helps to absorb the moisture of the chicken poop. Hemp bedding has a high thermal rating, keeping chickens warmer while they sleep. Hemp is non-acidic. The waste from your chicken housing will quickly biodegrade, leaving nothing but garden gold.
