Have you heard of the Heart Mantra of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva? It's a super important Buddhist chant, you know! It goes by other names too, like the Avalokitesvara Dharani, the Avalokitesvara Mantra, the Avalokitesvara True Words, and more. This mantra represents the virtues of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (also known as Avalokitesvara, the Mother of All Buddhas). It's one of the Ten Small Mantras recited during morning and evening practices, so many temples chant it before their meals during fasting periods. By reciting this mantra, you can seek wisdom and intelligence, gain victory in debates, foster mutual respect in relationships, make others hold you in high regard, improve interpersonal connections, seek fertility, prolong your lifespan, heal illnesses, eradicate negative karma, pray for rainfall, overcome difficulties, and keep evil spirits and thieves at bay. In a nutshell, whatever your wishes may be, reciting this mantra can fulfill them! The beauty of studying and reciting the Avalokitesvara Mantra is that there are no restrictions whatsoever. It doesn't matter who you are, anyone can learn and recite it. This truly reflects the compassion of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva! For those who recite this mantra, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva will offer protection and ensure the fulfillment of their aspirations. To diligently cultivate Buddhist teachings, it's highly recommended to recite it 108 times a day for a continuous period of 49 days. By doing so, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva will have their two attendants follow and protect you. According to tradition, it is believed that as long as you approach this practice with sincerity and a kind heart, whether you're a layperson or a monastic, vegetarian or meat-eater, you will receive blessings and have your wishes granted!
