After six incredible months exploring Europe, it’s finally time to say goodbye to Pete in England as he continues his own Land Rover adventure. For Carol and me, it’s time to fly back across the Atlantic and return to Canada… where a whole new chapter of the journey begins. Our first stop after landing is the off-grid island cabin — a place that has been completely closed up for the past four months of winter. But what we find when we arrive is far from easy. Deep snow has buried the property, temperatures plunge to -25°C, and the cabin is locked in the grip of a brutal Canadian winter. Before we can relax or warm up, there’s a lot of hard work ahead. Armed with shovels and determination, we begin digging our way through massive snowdrifts, slowly uncovering the cabin and bringing it back to life. By the end of the day, the fire is roaring, the cabin is warm, and after months away… it finally feels like home again.
