► This new catamaran, which made its world debut at Annapolis – though this was actually hull #3 - is astonishing in more ways than one. Firstly, the construction, carried out in Thailand, uses a double sandwich structure (Big Mac-style) comprising two layers of closed-cell foam and three fiberglass skins - one on the outside, one in the middle and one on the inside. The resulting thickness (7 cm/2¾ inches!) means that no bulkheads are required, allowing the catamaran to be fitted out as desired.
