As the aquaculture sector continued to grow and evolve, so did the need to share scientific and technical knowledge in a clear and accurate way. Whether working in research, management, industry, or policy, the ability to communicate effectively with different audiences - such as stakeholders, decision-makers, or the public - was a critical skill that researchers needed to master. This webinar was designed for students and early-career professionals who wanted to strengthen their communication skills. The session introduced key science communication concepts and tools, including how to understand what different audiences care about, how to shape a key message to make it relevant and easy to follow, and how storytelling could help audiences connect with scientific or technical findings. It also focused on the role of emotion, structure, and strategy in clearly conveying research outcomes. The concepts introduced in this webinar will be put into practice in a hands-on workshop that will follow during the Aquaculture Europe 2025 in Valencia (Spain), offering participants a complete and interactive learning experience. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ BIOGRAPHY: Joana Branco graduated in Biology in 2007 from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (Portugal), has two Master's degrees − one in Bioethics (UCAM Catholic University of Murcia, Spain) and one in Journalism and Communication of Science, Technology, Environment and Health (University Carlos III of Madrid, Spain) − and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Animal and Human Behaviour (Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain).
