Running Avondale Forest parkrun & Ireland's Highest Slide! Beyond the Trees & Powerscourt Waterfall
Our final parkrun in Ireland included a visit to Avondale Forest Park, Rathdrum to run Avondale Forest parkrun. We were drawn to this parkrun as we really wanted to have a go on Ireland's highest slide. This is the perfect post parkrun activity, especially with kids! It's right in the forest next to parkrun, in fact you can see it from the start, it was so fun! The parkrun itself was awesome! A tough, hilly, trail run and a fantastic team with great parkrun spirit! We were so lucky with the weather and it was great to meet up with our parkrun friends Ken, Maria and Annabelle again. Definitely worth a visit for the parkrun alone, but do make time for the other activities in the forest if you can. Ireland has so many wonderful adventures and visiting Powerscourt Waterfall was brilliant. We are so sad that this trip has come to an end. Huge thanks to everyone who has made our trip to the Emerald Isle so amazing, whether in person or simply messaging suggestions of places to go. It has been a fantastic experience for both Poppy and I and something we will remember forever. Now it's back to Leeds for us to continue our running adventures there.
