CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is quickly becoming a popular CBD alternative for its superior absorption and benefits. But it can be susceptible to decarboxylation if exposed to high heat for extended periods of time. What does this mean? CBDA converts to CBD during conventional purification processes because of the high heat involved. This high heat is typically in the 130C (266F), but thats just for distillation processes that are purifying crude extracts. CBDA can convert to CBD at lower heats in the 100F to 150F range, but only if it is a long exposure. This should be thought of in terms of months and not days though. Additionally, direct exposure to sunlight if not in a brown jar can also increase conversion to CBD, but this also takes months and is a slow process. We recommend storage in a cabinet or cool place for your CBDA products for optimal results. A fridge is just fine as well!
