When the suspect fled, Jared pursued on foot. When his taser failed to deploy, Jared grabbed the fleeing criminal who in a flash produced a .45 cal Glock and shot him in the face. The next thing Jared knew, he was on the ground with the man standing over him shooting him repeatedly. He was shot 7 times, but still was able to fight through and kill the man resisting arrest. Jared Reston's example is a message to law enforcement officers, federal agents, soldiers, and civilians, to never quit. It would have been only too easy to have quit under the fear and horror of the shooting, but Jared angrily rose to the occasion and won the gunfight. Never quit. Win. Improvise. Conquer your fear.
