A "junk-filled weird wonderland" of a crazy golf course serving colourful cocktails and fairground comes to Newcastle city centre. Scrapyard slides, twisted clowns and a "polluted jungle paradise" all feature among the holes at the popular Junkyard Golf Club. Now the chain finally comes to Newcastle after previously setting up venues in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, London and Oxford. A plan of the venue shows three bars and holes 'Bozo', 'Gary' and 'Pablo'. According to the firm's website, Pablo offers "tropical madness" in a "polluted paradise" where golfers "putt through UFC bears, pirate speedboats and glitter temples, covered in the skulls of failed players". Garage-themed Gary allows customers to "wind their way through written-off cars and auto-junk" with "90s tunes, a scrapyard slide and a UV garage room". Meanwhile, Bozo is described as the "creepiest show on earth" filled with "circus freaks, fairground creeps" and a mind-boggling hall of mirrors. Cocktails include the Ribena Turner and Hotline Ting, as well as Got Gum Hun? made from Malibu, coconut, cream, bubblegum and pineapple; and Purple Rain, made from gin, Aperol, Violette, lemon and cream soda. They come garnished with childhood treats such as party rings and fizzy laces. The food menu at existing branches includes the nacho dog, chilli cheese or pulled pork nachos, and salted caramel popcorn as well as pick 'n' mix sweets to munch as you go round the course.
