UMLILO hitmaker Mvzzle on his journey & UVALO

Gift Selaelo Morukhuladi, aka MVZZLE - the talented hitmaker who flamed the airwaves last year, as producer and feature on DJ Zinhle’s massive hit Umlilo which featured Rethabile and Donald’s most recent single, Black Love, is ready to carve his solo music career. After a freshly penned global deal with Warner Music South Africa MVZZLE recently released visuals for ‘Uvalo’ featuring Ndu Shezi. In 8 years, the 25 year old Producer and DJ has gone from playing at local clubs to placing third in SABC 1’s televised Dj competition, 1’s and 2’s to gracing stages such as the DSTV Mzansi’s Viewers’ Choice Awards, Motsepe Foundation Celebration, and Major League Gardens amongst others. All this, whilst collecting his first #1 with Zinhle’s ‘Umlilo’. 2008, was a defining year for him when his brother introduced him to Reason 4, a software used to produce music. Initially producing Hip-Hop and R&B - it was only in 2016, when he started producing house music. Making the difficult decision to drop out of college to pursue music and the assistance of SAACYF (South African Arts and Culture Youth Forum) who gave him opportunities to play at events such as Major League Gardens, Mapungubwe Arts Festival and Motsepe Foundation amongst others. The wheels of fortune turned in his favour in 2018, when he entered SABC 1’s Dj competition, 1’s and 2’s – where he placed third. After the competition, MVZZLE contacted renowned DJ and entrepreneur, Zinhle with two beats, one of which is now the smash hit ‘Umlilo’ featuring Rethabile - who had earlier DM’d, Zinhle on Instagram proposing a collaboration with her.
