Folks, a little experiment from the den. It's well known in the hobby that Otocinclus Catfish are great algae eaters. I've kept them for years, and they always keep my tank nice and clean - but I wanted to see them in action in "real time." Taking a "dirty" plant from my 2.6 gallon Fluval Spec (have to deal with the algae issues there), I brought it to my Otos in another tank...they did the rest. These little guys are algae bloodhounds. The smell it from a tank away and eat it by the pile. The humble Oto. One of my favorite members of the cleaning crew. Raising a pile of algae to you, Otocinclus, Keep tankin! --d
