I was able to catch up with Detroit native son Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns (61-5-1, 48 KO's) as he would meet and greet hundreds of adoring fans over this past weekend in Canastota, New York. As the feature inductee into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Tommy would be recognized for his many achievements in the sport. Otherwise known as "The Motor City Cobra," this legendary fighter would become the first man ever to win four major world titles in different weight divisions, finishing off his stellar career by capturing six major world titles in all plus two additional minor titles. The culmination of this four day event would see this great pugilist of the 70 s, 80 s, and well beyond, enter the Hall as an eternal member, to be enshrined as part of boxing history for future generations to see.
