This is a concert that has to be seen to be believed. I have uploaded a few songs from this concert individually over the years but in response to a special request, here is the (near) complete set that Big Country performed in Edinburgh at the Playhouse Theatre on March 23, 1986 in what would be known as The Seer Tour '86 (First Leg) The concert was filmed from the balcony using a camcorder that was smuggled in under a trench coat - the picture quality is average to good, the sound quality is quite okay but the payoff is that you get a real feeling from the immense, raucous nature of the crowd and what it must have been like to have seen it in person. The atmosphere is quite something to behold and on more than one occasion the band are simply unable to continue on as the crowd sing and chant back to them. Unfortunately, the first three numbers of the concert are missing - Wonderland Fields of Fire' Where the Rose Is Sown During the fourth number, we join the action and wait patiently as our cameraman gets the angle and shot adjusted - which he does after a little time. The tracks then appearing in this video are: Raindance (part) Remembrance Day I Walk the Hill Just A Shadow Steeltown Look Away (take 1) Look Away (take 2) Chance Porrohman The Teacher In A Big Country Inwards Harvest Home first encore; Flame of the West The Storm -second encore; Lost Patrol -third encore; The Tracks of My Tears -fourth encore; Fields of Fire fifth encore; Chance While I wouldn't particularly recommend this clip for a large TV due to the limitations of the source footage, I would say it is a gig of special significance, one that Stuart himself would describe thus; "I'll never forget this night as long as I live..." in his closing salutations to the crowd at the end. It doesn't get much better than that. I hope you enjoy this, Stay Alive!
