RMS "Queen Mary 2" has been in service for ten years now having been named by HM The Queen in January 2004. On Friday 9th May 2014, a special day was held in Southampton Docks with "Queen Mary 2" being joined by her fleetmates "Queen Victoria" & "Queen Elizabeth". Both "Queen Elizabeth" & "Queen Mary 2" were returning from their World Cruises - both of which had begun on January 10th. Prior to the event (and before sunrise), P&O Cruises' "Arcadia" arrived back from her previous cruise and headed up to the 'Mayflower Terminal', docking around 5am. The three ships then arrived one-after-another with "Queen Elizabeth" coming in first and turning before docking temporarily at Berth 40. She was followed by "Queen Victoria" who temporarily docked in front at the 'QEII' Terminal. Finally "Queen Mary 2" came in escorted by Fire Tug "Svitzer Sarah" and an exchange of blasts on the three ships' whistles were made as "Queen Mary 2" made her way to the 'Ocean' Terminal. A fifth and final ship then arrived - Holland-America Line's MS "Rotterdam" sailed past the Three Queens and headed to a make-shift berth at Berth 102, as she would be sailing on to Rotterdam around 11:00. "Queen Victoria" followed "Rotterdam" up and docked behind her at the 'City' Terminal allowing "Queen Elizabeth" to then move forwards to the 'QEII' Terminal. The Three Queens would later depart following a fireworks display at 22:00 with "Queen Mary 2" heading for New York, "Queen Victoria" to the Baltic and "Queen Elizabeth" to Hamburg, where she will undergo a refit.
