On the occasion of blue sky and calmness I get to do my favourite, trolling down the beach and casting one of my home made spinnerbaits for roaming Pike. I sit in 7 feet and cast toward shore because the murky water only allows weed growth to about 6 foot of depth and there is a shallow weedline the fish tend to follow on the inside. There were many a day that there was nothing and I was surprised by the lack of smaller, hammer handle sized pike. Mid September is about when I put the underwater cameras away and just go fish.
