Use these easy to follow steps to help guide you and your horse through the training process and learn to lead with confidence. 📋 What You'll Learn: 1️⃣ Establishing Direction: where we establish communication and respect from the mustang, telling them when to move their feet, where we want them to go, and when to stop movement 2️⃣ Holding the Lead Rope: getting the mustang used to seeing the rope off of the ground and moving before we start adding pressure 3️⃣ Driving Into Pressure: holding onto the rope, using step 1 to drive the horse forward and into the halter pressure as the horse naturally follows the feel of the rope and teaching the horse to turn into us 4️⃣ Moving Forward Off Of Pressure: where the mustang learns to find release in coming forward off of the halter pressure 5️⃣ The Start of Body Control: push different body parts of the mustang away from us to help establish steering while we are leading 6️⃣ Putting It All Together in a Small Pen: from the safety of a smaller area, we put all 5 of the previous steps together to get the horse leading 7️⃣ Leading in a Bigger Space: stepping out and trusting the process.
