#horror #banned #videonasties #greatfilms In 1984 the UK introduced the Video Recordings Act, which led to the banning of 72 films, and the prosecution of 39 films. This led to these films being removed from video shelves across the country. Of course, it didn't mean that these films were removed from our video recorders. An underground trading scene popped up, where those of us who wanted them got hold of them. In my youth I made it my mission to try and get hold of as many as possible and watch them. Mostly to see how bad they could actually be, and how gory they were. But also because I just love horror. What I found were lots of gory films, and lots of terrible films. I did find plenty of films that were actually just really good horror films. Some of them would be considered very tame today, and some of them still hold up as quite strong films. As well as just damn good films. In this video I list ten video nasties that I think any horror fan would enjoy!
