Well a lot of us we wish that we could look like those lovely ladies but even with regular diet and exercise, so many of us can’t get the body shape that we want. With Dr. Ben Johnson at Innovations Medical here, with how we can do procedures and live with the fat to get the best possible body shape for your body. Host: Good Morning! Dr. J: Good Morning! Host: It is the truth…why is it that if we eat right, and we go to the gym, why can’t we still get that body that we want? Dr. J: All of us have a body shape, both muscular and bony, that’s genetically determined. Where we put our fat is genetically determined. So, we have some control over making it go up and down but we can’t control where it goes when it goes up and down. Host: So what are you saying is the best way to remove fat in annoying places? Dr. J: Well the gold standard if you’re going to remove fat you’ve got to have medical help and the gold standard on that remains liposuction. We do it in the office, under local anesthesia, mild sedation, you don’t have to stay in the hospital, you go home the same day, and most people are back at work in a day or two. So it’s a relatively simple procedure that can make a big difference in body shape. Host: As you mentioned, everybody has a different genetic built and so I’m sure you have many different processes that many people want to take that fat away but what is maybe the most popular places to – Dr. J: Well we do a lot of thighs and arms also but we do by far the most on the stomach and on the love handles and recently we’ve been doing the back, a lot more lower-backs in particular. Host: When was that? Dr. J: We will now use the mannequin here to demonstrate. So, this is the sacrum in the lower back. When we have a lot of fat here… where does the back start, we can’t tell so we can liposuction that area and get a much more shapely bottom even though you haven’t added anything to the bottom. The bottom is the same size but you get a better look because you made this area go flat. Host: What if we wanna add a better bottom? Dr. J: Well, we can take the fat that we removed from the sacrum or the love handles and then we can add it to the bottom as well. When we do that, we can actually go to a really nice, rounded shape. So when you combine the fat transferred and the liposuction, you can go from here to here and when one thing enhances to the other, the term used for that is synergy. These two things are synergetic. We take the fat away and then add the fat where we want it and it makes a much better look. Host: This is a good badonk right here! And I’ll tell you what. I could squat – and I don’t think I could get that butt right there. Where also are we going to use this synergy to enhance the other parts of the body? Dr. J: Other common areas we do this is to do the stomach liposuction and take that fat and put it in the breasts. If you make the breasts look larger, the stomach looks flatter. If the stomach looks flatter, the breasts look larger. So again, it’s a synergistic effect.
