In this video from The CTAD Clinic, Dr Mike Lloyd (Clinic Director) discusses a way of trying to understand how emotions can suddenly intrude on a situation for people with complex dissociative conditions. Mike talks about how layers of dissociation within Dissociative Identity Disorder and Other Specified Dissociative Disorder can occur, and why simple situations can end up generating powerful emotional responses that seem to make little sense to the context (for exmaple, no trigger evident).
