This video gives a quick peek at the way I create a multi-layered necklace. I am using beads that I receive as a bead ambassador for @JesseJamesBeads and some that I purchase from them, as well as a few other pieces that I have in my personal stash! As a bead ambassador I get sent quarterly, beautiful and unique beads and buttons that lend themselves well to all my creative endeavors! In this project I use: A large variety of bead mixes (Let's Be Mermaids and other similar mixes), beads, and chain from Jesse James Beads in teal. Beadalon stringing wire and wrapping wire (20 and 18 gauge) Freshwater white rice pearls 6mm crystal bicones Variety of gemstone and glass beads from my personal stash Variety of gold-plated metal spacer beads and bead caps Gold-plated or gold-filled findings I enjoy making videos, though I am still trying to get it all together, one day I may actually do one where I am speaking again! Unfortunately, I am one of the "lucky" ones who got that COVID cough and asthma that has hung on for over 6 months now, (sigh)! When I get to the point where I can talk for over 5 minutes without breaking into a coughing spasm, I will go again with the voice. Until then, I try to write out what is happening. I attempt to extend the pages with more words for those of you who, like me, read purposefully. Those of you who read real fast, enjoy the ocean view in the background! My name is Tracy Sparks and I am the owner/designer/maker at Sparklesalot2 where I make handcrafted jewelry and accessories. I have been making jewelry for almost 20 years! I first started out making seed and bugle bead earrings to match some Native American rings I had inherited. After 6 months of trial and error, I finally got one pair made, (after numerous attempts). I was a Certified Jewelry Instructor at Michaels for over 8 years, which complimented the other creative part of my life, being a teacher on cello/violin and a musician/cellist playing in up to four orchestras and various small ensembles. My styles and skills in jewelry making slowly evolved and finally settled on what I call “Boho-bling” and “Boho-western”. One of my favorite pieces to make are beaded chain necklaces, though my love for bead weaving will always be there! I do love to experiment with the pieces I make, because quite frankly, that is the fun part of being creative! You can find my jewelry pieces and/or videos on the following platforms: Etsy, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube
