Ura Tsuki is a close quarter short punch found in karate. Similar to Shita Tsuki, however the fist should not be inverted like it is in shita tsuki, instead the fist should remain horizontal. The elbows stay tucked in close to the body and the arm only punches out a very short distance with the elbow remaining at the side of the body and not extending past the front of the body. Very similar technique is used to generate the famous one inch punch with power coming from hip rotation rather than arm extension.
