Full game longplay of Thief: The Dark Project/Thief Gold, released in December 1998 (Thief Gold released later in 1999), played every mission on Expert Difficulty, including the training mission. Used a newest TFix patch, played in 2560x1440 resolution, recorded in 1440p60. The Haunted Cathedral level this time again, one of the haunts mysteriously disappeared somewhere, perhaps below the map? Anyway, it couldn't be found and killed, and so I couldn't progress in the mission. Strange Bedfellows mission got bugged too, apparently, since the script wouldn't work and the hammerite wouldn't talk to me and give me the key to procceed. Restarted the mission 3 times off-camera, no dice. All other missions completed, with, at least 72% loot found in each one at the lowest, although I did manage to complete several levels with 100% loot, basically perfect runs. Overall it took me amost 7 hours longer, or twice as long, than my first Thief Gold longplay on Normal. Pretty scary to think about what one difficulty option change can do. :)) Oh, and I do hate the Lost City. ARRGH. But apparently I hate the Return to the Cathedral even more now. Man, the immense drop of the quality of the missions right after say Undercover is astonishing. They are chaotic, prone to script bugs, and with me basically just getting stuck or running away from enemies, since it's literally the best way forward. And that says much. Mods used: TFix (with antialiasing turned on + bloom) AI Enhanced Textures (canonical/original) AI Enhanced Videos (interpolated to 60 fps, quadrupled the resolution to 640x480, max supported by the engine) Improved Portraits/Paintings Sound Enhancements Patch All mods/enhancements found on ttlg forum.
