Midday movers: Benchmark Indices slip 2% in trade

The Indian markets fall in trade as investors sentiment weak amid worries over economic growth due to rising coronavirus cases. The Benchmark indices Sensex plunges 2% to 47,850 levels and Nifty 50 Index drops more thans 250 points or 2% to 14,330 levels. The Broader markets are underperforming the benchmark indices.Broad-based selling is seen in the market; banks, auto, financial services, FMCG, IT, media, metal and realty shares under pressure. All sectoral indices trade in red except Nifty Pharma & Nifty IT. Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI, ONGC, Ultratech among the top Nifty 50 losers in trade, down more than 3.5% in trade. Vinnii Motiwala is here with  details.
