On the 16th of October 2021 my beloved father Alan Hawkshaw passed away peacefully. Dad suffered a difficult year with his health, but fought with dignity and grace at the end, and I was able to be there with my husband Adam to hold his hand while he bravely transitioned back to source. Shortly before Dad passed away, we as a family were so proud to have been able to see Dad receive his British Empire Medal from the Lord Lieutenant Of Hertfordshire. The Lord Lieutenant personally drove to our hours during the "petrol crisis" to award Dad his medal. With the help of our friend Gary Forbes we have edited the footage have edited it into something that reflects the incredible and timeless legacy my Father has now left behind - keeping his memory very much alive. Dad was a generous man, he always looked after people in need and was of great support to so many and we will miss him so much. He always stayed in touch with his humble beginnings and had his feet firmly on the ground. Adam kindly did the voice over and helped make this final edit.
