🎄 Christmas Markets in Italy | Asti and Grazzano Visconti 🎄 In this video, we share our impressions of two atmospheric Christmas markets in Italy and briefly talk about the history of Christmas markets in the country. We begin in Asti, where we arrived by train. At the Christmas market in Piazza Alfieri, we walk among the lights and wooden stalls, warm up with hot mulled wine — a traditional winter drink made from heated wine with spices and citrus — and munch on chestnuts, enjoying the first truly Christmas atmosphere of the season. Then we head to Grazzano Visconti, together with our friends who invited us to show us this unique place. Here, Christmas feels calm and cozy: decorated streets, light installations, music, and a festive mood all around. This is where we try different foods — onion taralli, a crunchy traditional Italian snack, fragrant honey, and absinthe, a very strong herbal alcoholic drink known for its intense flavor and high alcohol content, which became one of the most unexpected moments of the trip. We also managed to catch a group of zampognari, musicians playing the traditional zampogna — an old Italian bagpipe that is especially common during the Christmas season.
