Hello everyone, we have been talking about the part where Jesus was tempted by the devil. What would happen if you were tempted in the same way Jesus was? Suppose you were standing in the very position where you would have to be crucified. What if you were to be whipped? Would you, just like Jesus, obey and follow the will of God? At that moment, your thoughts would become heavy and complicated, and you would be more likely to follow your own thoughts rather than the word of God. That is the difference between Jesus and us. Jesus believed God. He prayed to God and had faith that even if He were crucified, God would raise Him from the dead. Because He trusted God, Jesus offered Himself completely to the will of God. But most of us are not like that. When we hear the word of God, we think about how difficult it will be or whether it will benefit us. If it seems profitable, we follow. But even if it is God’s word, if it doesn’t seem good or convenient to us, we reject it. This is what separates us from Jesus. Our destiny is not determined by how smart, diligent, or educated we are—it is determined by whom we entrust ourselves to. Whether we depend on God and trust His word, or whether we follow our own reasoning and emotions, that choice defines our lives. Sadly, many say they believe in God but do not actually trust Him. They follow their thoughts only when the word looks favorable, but when it brings hardship or loss, they reject it. People like this may outwardly appear sincere and faithful, but inwardly their hearts are far from God. They may look humble and spiritual on the outside, yet they are deceived by Satan within. They think, “This much is fine,” or “I’ll be okay following my thoughts.” But true spiritual life cannot happen that way. We must see that our own thoughts are wrong and be ready to follow only the word of God. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Our bodies live by eating bread, but our spirits live only by receiving the word of God. In Genesis 1, when God said, “Let the earth bring forth herb yielding seed,” life began to appear. The word of God brought transformation. Likewise, in 1 Peter 1:23 it says, “Being born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” The word is the living seed that gives us new life.
