The Good Food Institute's academic community coordinator, Asia Sheehab, describes multiple paths you can take to pursue an academic or industry career in this rapidly growing field. This webinar also features an insightful conversation with Joshua Filer. Josh graduated with a bachelor’s in Finance from West Chester University in Pennsylvania in 2023. Josh held various leadership roles in student organizations focused on sustainability and business throughout his undergraduate years and decided to venture into the alternative protein industry. His journey since graduation has been a blend of freelance and part-time positions in startups focused on alternative proteins and consumer packaged goods (CPG), along with deliberate efforts to expand his professional network in these sectors. Currently, he facilitates a webinar series for GlassWall Syndicate, an organization investing in alternative protein ventures, and works as a Business Development Consultant for Talist, aimed at connecting alternative protein companies with global talent. His past experiences include an internship in Corporate Development focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions and assisting in launching startups like Yo Egg and a CPG company.
