He explains that GI Cancer i.e. Gastrointestinal Cancer is amongst the top 5 cancers affecting our population. It’s a lifestyle disorder which is related to altered diet, tobacco, lack of sleep and exercise. The most common symptoms are weight loss, altered bowel habits, blood in stools, chronic indigestion. According to Dr Vikas, it is diagnosed by upper GI Endoscopy or Colonoscopy associated with biopsy. The treatment basically depends upon the stage of the disease and the tolerance of the patient.
