Maggie kills her husband in the heat of the moment and does away with his body. Busy with raising her four children alone, she tries to build up the superficial family idyll to hide the reality of fear and pain. Driven by her disturbed religious beliefs that she is carrying out God's will, she begins to inconceivably abuse her children. Hopelessly victimised by the sadistic madness of their mother the children find themselves on the road to hell where only death seems to be able end their torment.
