4.0.1 patch. IMPORTANT: This video is out of date as of Cataclysm release. I will try to make a new one shortly for lvl 85. Spec, Glyphs, Gems, Enchants, Reforging and Rotation. Remember that just as before, this is how I do it, and not how I say it should be done. If you have any questions or things you want to point out that you disagree with, feel free to post a comment. ----------------------------------------------- A quick mutilate guide: Spec: 31/2/3 or 31/3/2 The point in deadly brew is optional. Glyphs: Prime: Mutilate, Rupture and Vendetta (Static) or Backstab (Target swapping) Major: Sprint and ToTT Before looking at reforging, make sure you have gems and chants sorted. What's new with them since 4.0.1? Nightmare tear is no longer the best way to activate the meta gem bonus. The gems you want to use are: Red: Delicate Cardinal Ruby 20agi Yellow: Deft Ametrine 10 agi/10 haste Blue: Glinting Dreadstone 10 agi/10 hit You will want to get all socket bonuses. If you are a JC get 3 x Delicate Dragon's Eye Enchants: Enchant Weapon - Mongoose x2 Enchant Cloak - Major Agility Enchant Gloves - Major Agility Enchant Boots - Superior Agility Mongoose and Berserking are very close, but Mongoose pulls ahead slightly with 120 agi and 30 haste rating vs Berserking's 400 AP Reforging: (First up the caps to aim for.) Spell hitrating 0/3 precision: 446 1/3 precision: 394 2/3 precision: 342 3/3 precision: 289 Experise About 172 (Gnomes 149) You can reforge into a stat that is not yet on the item. You can't reforge into primary stats like agility, stamina and so on. Before anything, make sure to get expertise capped and then spell hit capped. The prio order is: Crit to Haste then Crit to Mastery. You may have to change back and forward some to get the hit and exp balanced. Stat weights: ( These are only rough estimates. Creds to EJ ) Y.hit: 3.2 Agi: 2.8 Exp: 2.6 Haste: 2.2 Mast: 1.9 W.Hit: 1.8 Crit: 1.55 I struggle a bit with way too much hitrating. It's not a huge issue though. Mastery and white hit are very close. I'm pretty sure the values of the stats will change a load of times back and forward in a near future anyway. Rotation: Always start in stealth when possible for overkill. Pre-pot if it's a long fight. Open with Garrote, if stealth breaks just Mutilate instead. 4+ Slice n' Dice. You need to get both Rupture and Envenom on before it falls off. Vendetta (If it's a short fight, use it on Blood Lust.) 4+ Rupture (Prio on keeping SnD and Rupture up 100%) 4+ Envenom (If both others are up) Backstab below 35% If I need to clip envenom, I do it at 60-ish energy. If Rupture has less then 5 sec left, pool and Rupture. If Rupture has more then 5 sec left, Envenom. I find this pretty hard to time perfectly. One second off and I either energy cap or lose Rupture for a second. Practice makes perfect? I use Cold Blood together with Vanish/Overkill. If it's a long fight I use it instantly when off cd. First Tott goes to the tank, the rest on another Rogue or Hunter.
