The CFA Institute posted a video to their website yesterday to explain exactly why the pass rates have been so low. The head of CFA exam development spoke pretty candidly about the data that the institute has examined recently about candidates exam performance when their exams are rescheduled. They give a pretty good explanation about what we are seeing in the pass rates, but it’s not perfect. We are going to watch this recently released video together, then dig into the implications of what the institute is saying. Before we get into the video, first recognize that the institute is providing what many of us were asking for, which is transparency. In the videos that I have made and Mark Meldrum has made, many of you in the comments have said that, even if the CFA exams were getting more difficult or change in some other way, so be it. But we just want to know that. We want the institute to be transparent about what is going on. And I think we are getting that now. Secondly, it seems pretty likely that the reason the CFA institute chose to provide some transparency here was because of all the conversation and concern over the past week about the low pass rates. Many of you have posted your feelings on reddit, many publications have written about this, and a couple YouTube channels have posted videos about this. And I like to think I had a part in encouraging the institute to provide some context here. Lets get into the video and see what they are saying. If you have an idea of something you want me to cover in depth, please let me know because I take your requests seriously. Will be back with more CFA Exam tips in a couple of weeks so please submit more questions you would like to hear answered. Love you all!
