conTRUMPETary - The project

The 'conTRUMPETary' project was founded by Sandro Hirsch and Tobias Krieger to expand and spread the contemporary repertoire for the trumpet. -------- We are Sandro Hirsch and Tobias Krieger, trumpet students of Professor Reinhold Friedrich in Karlsruhe, Germany. Eight months ago, we recognized that the contemporary repertoire for trumpet and piano, which we consider to be amongst the most significant parts of our concert literature, is notably underdeveloped. As a result, alongside our Professor and our colleagues, we have begun a new project to bring this literature to the forefront of the concert repertoire. We began not only a research project, aiding us in the discovery of many previously unrecorded and unperformed pieces, but we have also commissioned seven new works to actively contribute to our cause. The pieces that we have discovered and commissioned we are going to record and published them on our YouTube channel.
