Speranze Perdute (Morelli), Italian waltz for two mandolins (harmony) played on vintage bowlbacks

This is a very well-known Italian waltz, written in the 1920s by Alessandro Morelli and published originally in Paris as "Espoirs Perdus". While the mandolin version appears to be the original, the tune is now also widely associated with the accordion/fisharmonica. My version is based on an anonymous trio (two mandolins and guitar) arrangement published in the 1920s/30s by Paolilli music publishers in New York. It appears identically in Sheri Mignano's great book "Mandolin Melodies" and seems to be the basis of most mandolin versions now played. The tune is played at a fairly wide range of speeds, and accordion versions in particular tend to be very fast. I am using the speed given in Sheri's book -- moderato (136bpm). Played with the first mandolin (1890s Umberto Ceccherini) in the right channel and second mandolin (1915 Luigi Embergher) in the left channel, with a tenor guitar rhythm track. Images are a collage of pictures associated in some form with the title -- I kept this deliberately serendipitous and shied away from the overly obvious allegories which come up when searching for "Lost Hope".
