Here's a nice walk through the Pointe-Claire Village, located in the Pointe-Claire borough of the West Island of Montreal, Canada The Pointe-Claire Village dates back to 1698-1699 when the French settlers first arrived. At the heart of the village is a parish and, one of my personal favourite parts of the village, a beautiful windmill that dates back to the 1700s. The windmill has seen better days as you can see, but it has held up pretty well over the years, considering the storms and rough environment it has been exposed to. The shoreline by the windmill also offers incredible views of Lac-Saint-Louis/Lake Saint Louis, which is part of the Sainte Lawrence River. Further inland, we can see some beautiful old buildings consisting of homes, businesses, churches, etc that have hardly changed over time. The church that I was trying to find the name of is called St. Joachim of Pointe-Claire Church. The Pointe-Claire Village is one of my favourite places to visit on the Island of Montreal. If you enjoy the feel of an old village, complete with an authentic windmill, then this is a place I highly recommend visiting. It is easily accessible by the STM bus route 211 and 201. This video was filmed on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
