Here’s a list of Bollywood biggies, who passed away in the year of the pandemic: Irrfan Khan: Celebrated Indian actor Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020 after he lost battle to neuroendocrine tumour. He was 52. Rishi Kapoor: Rishi Kapoor, who was suffering from cancer, passed away at a hospital in Mumbai on April 30, this year. He had undergone treatment for almost a year in New York before he returned to Mumbai. Wajid Khan: Wajid Khan of popular music director duo Sajid-Wajid, who was suffering from COVID-19, lost battle to Coronavirus on June 1. The 42-year-old had undergone kidney transplant a few months before his death. Sushant Singh Rajput: Sushant was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his home in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14. While there were several speculations, the AIIMS forensic team in October confirmed that it was a case of suicide and ruled out murder. Saroj Khan: Choreographer Saroj Khan breathed her on July 3 after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 71. In her glorious career spanning three decades, the three-time National Award-winning dance director had choreographed songs like 'Ek Do Teen', 'Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar', 'Dhak Dhak Karne Laga', “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai', 'Nimbooda' and 'Dola Re Dola' to name a few. She had last worked in Karan Johar's Kalank. Jagdeep: Veteran Bollywood actor Jagdeep passed away at his Mumbai residence on July 8 due to age related issues. He was 81. The actor-comedian was best known for playing Soorma Bhopali in Ramesh Sippy's Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra starrer Sholay. Nishikant Kamat: Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat, who was suffering from liver cirrhosis, passed away at a hospital on August 17. He was 50. The director was known for helming movies such as Dombivali Fast, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Force, Drishyam, Rocky Handsome and Madaari. SP Balasubrahmanyam: Singer-actor SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away at the age of 74, on September 25 due to COVID-19 related complications. Anil Devgan: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s cousin, director Anil Devgn passed away on October 5 at the age of 51. He had directed Ajay in Raju Chacha and Blackmail. Faraaz Khan: Faraaz Khan, who is best known for playing Rani Mukerji’s husband in Mehndi, passed away at the age of 50 on November 4 due to neurological disorders. Salman Khan had come forward to take care of his medical expenses. Asif Basra: Senior actor Asif Basra was found hanging at a private complex in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh on November 12.
