Tethonware Basic Supports Video

In this video we will go over all the settings for Tethonware’s Basic Supports. Following these directions, you will be able to print many different models in many different materials on the Bison 1000 DLP 3D printer. We will go over general support creation, how to create different types of supports, editing those supports, and base creation. Video Topics Generate Support - Click on your object and click on Support Mode to begin the process. Then click Generate Supports to apply your default support settings. These can be saved at any time. Support Points Tip Diameter - Increasing or decreasing this number will increase the tip of the supports Critical Build Angle - Increasing this will allow for more supports to be applied to the object. Increasing this will possibly help heavier models to stay attached. Sampling Strategy - Creases and Surfaces cover everything in the Critical Build Angle, Creases only attaches supports to geometry such as corners and details, and Surfaces only attaches supports to cleaner/smoother geometry. Surface Sampling - Randomly places supports more organically and is faster while Grid takes longer but more evenly covers a geometries surface in a grid pattern. Support Generation Strategy - Split Style Scaffolding is your basic support setup, Single Supports Only does not interconnect the supports together and just go from the base plate to the object and may be best for smaller and lighter objects, and Lattice has much denser, interconnected supports that work for heavier objects. Pole Diameter - Sets the diameter of the support column Pole Widening Factor - This causes the support column to taper larger or smaller. Place Above Base At - Set the object above the base Internal Supports Enabled - These supports go inside the model or outside where they would not connect to the base but the model itself. Base Plate Height of Foot - Distance from build plate to top of the foot. Use Absolute Foot Size - All feet created are consistent in size. Diameter at the top of the foot - As name implies Diameter at the bottom of the foot - As name implies Add Base Plate Support - Adds a base plate for supports to connect to and can be edited when selected.
