Posthuman Disability Studies: an experiment on phonelessness

This is a video for an anthropology class on disability. As the society progresses with technology, the socially constructed meaning of a functional body changes. Smartphones entered our life as a complimentary tool and later, to certain extent, became indispensable. It has shaped the way we socialize, work. We acquire a predisposition to wake up with the installed alarms, check the GPS to navigate, connect with our friend on social media, and inform ourselves with the Internet. Surely these things could have been achieved by other tools individually, but our habits underwent considerable changes. Therefore, in order to explore how different it would be to live a phoneless life in a contemporary urban setting, I created this video that documents my experiences.
