Pirates are mostly known for winning their bisket by sea, but in the 17th century, they were so numerous, well-trained and put up against an enemy weak enough that they were able to take on and conquer entire cities. Using innovative new tactics and state of the art equipment, they were able to defeat armies many times their own size, and execute horrendous treatments upon the people they occupied. Driven by a hatred for Spain and religious zeal, they were the buccaneers, and this is how they fought on land.
