The profound world of Indian texts, the epic of Mahabharata and Ramayana are not only pivotal to Indian religion and culture but also serve as vital pillars of collective wisdom and traditions. The “Gyan Rass”, emphasises how knowledge is conveyed through “vyakhyan” and “katha”. These are essential in spreading and preserving knowledge across generations. Further, “Vyas Parampara”, helps trace how Maharishi Vyasa has contributed to shaping the Indian literature and cultural heritage and his legacy continues to influence the intellectual and spiritual life of India. The “Bharatiya Gyan Parampara” or the Indian Knowledge Tradition forms the backbone of Indian philosophy and cultural practices. “Lok Kala” or folk art, as it is famously known, showcases the rich variety and beauty of traditional and tribal art forms. They reflect the rich cultural and traditional identity of various Indian communities. One such renowned artist, Teejan Bai, with her unique artistry and singing brings to life Pandavani, a traditional performing art form from Chhattisgarh, where she enacts tails from Mahabharata with musical accompaniment. Further, the traditional folk art is kept alive by Gond and Baiga tribes, through their distinctive tattoo art done by the godharin's and the world-renowned Gond paintings which are not only artistically captivating but also deeply rooted in tribes traditions, beliefs and ways of life.
